Format: Linear computer-based test; multiple-choice plus multiple-response, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank items

Duration: 230 minutes (two 10-minute breaks)
Passing: Pass/fail against PMI proficiency levels — no published numeric cut score
Eligibility: 36 months leading projects with a four-year degree (60 months without), plus 35 contact hours of project management education or CAPM certification
Validity / renewal: 3-year cycle — renewed by earning 60 PDUs per cycle
Where you take it: Pearson VUE test centers or online proctored
Retake policy: Up to 3 attempts within the one-year eligibility period
Cost: $405 — PMI member rate; $575 for non-members (membership is a separate fee)
