Manage and Secure Power BI

A collaboration container that holds related content — reports, dashboards, semantic models (datasets), dataflows, and paginated reports — and to which users are granted access via roles.

Admin, Member, Contributor, and Viewer. Admin and Member have the broadest rights; Viewer has read-only access.

Admins can add or remove people (including other admins), change the role of any user, update or delete the workspace, and do everything Members can do.

Members can add other users (Members, Contributors, Viewers but not Admins), publish/update/delete content, share items and apps, and feature items — but cannot delete the workspace or manage admins.

Contributors can create, edit, and delete content, publish reports, and schedule refresh — but they cannot add or manage users, share content, or publish/update apps.
