How much does the MPJE cost?
The MPJE costs $270. US$100 eligibility application plus US$170 exam purchase per jurisdiction (NABP Bulletin, March 2026); some jurisdictions add an US$85 processing fee. The Uniform MPJE (UMPJE) costs US$100 plus US$350. Board licensure fees are extra.
How long is the MPJE and how many questions does it have?
120 items (100 scored, 20 pretest) — 2.5 hours.
What do you need to pass the MPJE?
Minimum scaled score of 75; results are reported as pass/fail.
Can you retake the MPJE?
30-day waiting period after a failed attempt; up to 5 attempts per jurisdiction (5 total for the UMPJE) unless a board decides otherwise.
