Personnel Supervision & Management

An evidence-based teaching package that combines instruction, modeling, rehearsal, and feedback to teach a new skill until the learner meets a mastery criterion.

Instruction, modeling, rehearsal (practice), and feedback.

Providing a verbal or written description of the target skill, including what the behavior is, why it matters, and the conditions under which it should occur.

Demonstrating the target skill—live or via video—so the trainee can observe correct performance before attempting it.

Giving the trainee opportunities to practice the skill, often through role-play, so performance can be observed and corrected.

Delivering specific praise for correct performance and corrective guidance for errors immediately after rehearsal.
