Assembling Objects

Spatial reasoning: your ability to visualize how parts fit together or how a shape looks after it is rotated, flipped, or moved. There are no formulas, just mental visualization.

Only on the computer-adaptive CAT-ASVAB (taken at a MEPS). It is excluded from the paper (MET-site) form.

Connection problems (matching labeled points on separate shapes joined by a connector line) and puzzle/assembly problems (fitting a set of disassembled pieces into one complete shape).

The connector line must attach to the exact same labeled points on each shape as shown in the question, with the shapes in valid (possibly rotated) orientations.

Discard any option where the line touches the wrong point on a shape, attaches at the wrong angle, or where a shape is the wrong size, count, or a mirror image instead of a rotation.
